Contrary to recent rumors circulating about Audi not entering F1 in 2026, the company confirmed that they will join as planned. Alunni Bravi confirmed in a statement reported by Motorsport.com that:
Audi has a strong commitment to Formula One and, of course together with Sauber, this commitment comes from a decision not only of the board of Audi but also the advisory board of Audi and the Supervisory Board of Audi/Volkswagen.

This certainly good news for FOM and the FIA since they have pursued VAG, AG for decades. How it will work out though is an open question. After all, manufacturers have come and gone (with the notable exception of Ferrari) from F1 since the sport started in 1950. We’ll explore that subject in due course…
