With apologies to The Who; meet the new grid, same as the old grid.
With Logan Sargeant officially confirmed with Williams for 2024, next year’s grid begins with the same drivers it ended 2023 with. I think this is the first time this has ever happened, so it is notable for that reason alone. Teams opted for stability and continuity, at least for the time being.
2025 may be a whole different dynamic though with many drivers out of contract and a few up and comers looking to join in the fun. Not to mention a possible 11th team in the form of Andretti Global, which would open up two more seats when they join. So maybe 2024 is the proverbial calm before the storm.
In upcoming posts, I’ll take a look at each team and discuss their current and possible future lineups. In the meantime, it’s status quo on the grid for next season.
